California has a medical marijuana program, and they also allow the sale to adult-use (recreational) customers. California doesn’t have any reciprocity agreements with other states. By law, only CA residents are eligible for the program. The purchase limits are:
- Recreational Use (In and Out of State)
- 1 ounce (or 28.35 grams) of cannabis, and up to 8 grams of cannabis concentrate and manufactured products (including edibles, extracts, oils and other products), and 6 immature cannabis plants in one day.
- Allotments reset every 24 hours.
- Customers can shop as often as needed if they are within their purchase limits.
- Medical Use (In-state residents only)
- Up to 8 ounces of dried cannabis, and 6 mature or 12 immature cannabis plants in one day.
- If the patient has a physician’s recommendation different from this amount, they may purchase the amount consistent with the recommendation. Local jurisdictions may also allow for an increased limit.
- Customers can shop as often as needed if they are within their purchase limits.
